Possible ways to develop
B category- technician- avionic
A category B1 aircraft maintenance license shall permit the holder
to issue certificates of release to service following maintenance, including
aircraft structure, power plant and mechanical and electrical systems.
Replacement of avionic line replaceable units, requiring simple tests to prove
their serviceability, shall also be included in the privileges. Category B1
shall automatically include the appropriate A subcategory.
A category B2 aircraft maintenance license shall permit the holder to issue
certificates of release to service following maintenance on avionic and
electrical systems (EASA Annex 3 (Part-66)).
To apply for B category license you need education from TAC or
AME/TAC course in addition to 2-year working experience as a mechanic.
C category- engineer
A category C aircraft maintenance license shall permit the holder to
issue certificates of release to service following base maintenance on
aircraft. The privileges apply to the aircraft in its entirety in a Part-145
organization (EASA Annex 3 (Part-66)).
To apply for C category license you need 3-year working experience as B1 or B2
licensed technician/avionic or 5- year working experience as B1
technician-avionic.
You can also apply for C category license if you have an academic degree and
have been working for 3 years in charge in the aircraft maintenance
organization.
